2002 - LAVTA contracted Avail Technologies, Inc. to provide technical guidance and oversight for their new Automatic Vehicle Locator System. The system is helping LAVTA manage their fleet by optimizing communications and operations management. It is also providing many forms of passenger information, ultimately increasing ridership. The system contract was awarded to Siemens ILG of Cedar Rapids, IA. Avail assisted LAVTA’s project team in technical and management reviews, and system testing. For this project, the Siemens TransitMaster system was interfaced to a Trapeze FX-Lite system for fixed route scheduling, and to a Trapeze PASS system for paratransit scheduling.
