The Rapid’s current fleet consists of approximately 105 fixed route vehicles, 85 paratransit vehicles and 15 service vehicles.
Avail’s OmniPoint suite of products:
- CommandPoint – Computer Aided Dispatching and Automatic Vehicle Location
- ControlPoint – Vehicle solution including Mobile Data Terminal with single point of log on
- DataPoint-Data mining and analysis for operational personnel
- InfoPoint-Real-time service display for customer information
2006 - Avail will be delivering of a fully compliant state-of-the-art CAD/AVL system with a fully compliant public safety grade Wireless Wide Area Communications Network, to meet all of The Rapid’s voice and data needs. This solution including all of the subsystems it contains, were solely designed and developed to address the specific needs of public transit agencies the size of The Rapid.
The heart of the proposed system is Avail’s own OmniPoint product suite which provides all of the features and functionality that The Rapid is looking to employ, as well as providing all of the add-on modules that The Rapid has expressed interest in for the future. Of course the beauty of Avail’s solution is that through our NON PROPRIETY open architecture design The Rapid will be able to add these additional features using products from Avail, or any other vendor The Rapid wishes to contract with in the future.
