Project History
2001 - TCATA contracted with Avail to equip their demand response fleet of vehicles with an Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) System and new radio hardware to support this system. The fleet was equipped with new radio and in-vehicle hardware to report vehicle location automatically to the Central Operation center. The location information is displayed in the operations center so the dispatchers know the location of the entire fleet at a glance. This enhancement to their demand response fleet enables the system operators to effectively dispatch vehicles to meet the demands of their ridership.
