2003 - Using a very unique approach to the transit industry, Avail is the Single Point of Responsibility for the project. Avail worked with Rockland to evaluate the operations, existing systems, and expectations for future growth to determine specific ITS technologies required to meet Rockland’s requirements. In the first phase, detailed procurement specifications were written for an RFP, and Avail with Rockland selected the appropriate ITS technologies for their paratransit operations. In the next phase of the program, Avail as the systems integrator installed the system components for Rockland’s paratransit fleet are successfully integrated these systems into their operations.
2006 - Avail is continuing to work with the County and in the next phases of the project will be the Single Point of Responsibility for ITS technologies for Rockland’s fixed route operations.
