2001 - The first phase of this project brought Avail Technologies, Inc. in to work with JAUNT Directors, Staff, and Employees in the definition of JUANT’s needs through extensive interviews with all levels of staff. Following the interviews, Avail provided analysis in assessing the present state of technology and establishing the technology needs based on JAUNT’s visions of the future. This step encompassed each and every function within JAUNT such as operations, maintenance, accounting, customer service and supervisory functions. The recommendations, which came from this evaluation process, were backed by an analysis of the benefits/impacts to JAUNT’s daily operations. In conjunction with the managing body of JAUNT, Avail delivered an agreed upon set of requirements to be accomplished by the system. Following the needs assessment, Avail developed a solution that met JAUNT’s needs ensuring that the solution would support JAUNT not only for today, but for years to come. This solution accounted for adherence to ITS standards in communication protocols, system architectural requirements, expandability, ease of use and longevity. Avail then took the approved design and formulated a procurement document for JAUNT solicitation along with support in the analysis of each respondent's approach to meeting the needs of JAUNT. Finally, Avail is supporting the deployment of the technology by oversight management, extensive sell-off testing and complete system integration thereby providing JAUNT with an end-to-end solution. The solution included Trapeze Paratransit software and Mentor mobile data computers.
