Transit systems and organizations are becoming very good at collecting and storing data. Unfortunately, the data usually sits in a separate database, unused, and without an effective way of applying it to make operational decisions. Why take the time and effort to save data you are never going to use? |

DataPoint brings the data directly to your desktop in easy to understand charts and tables. DataPoint Analysis is a powerful tool to browse your ridership data and answer spur of the moment questions. Analysis presents data in point-and-click charts which allow you to quickly mine ridership data and locate other relevant information. DataPoint can also separate APC Counts from Farebox Fares to let you perform analysis on each category individually.
DataPoint goes beyond other systems by integrating your schedule data with real time data reported from your fleet. This allows DataPoint to create reports on on-time performance, missed trips, revenue miles/hours, and passenger miles.
DataPoint Reports are capable of displaying data for any of the components in the OmniPoint product suite. DataPoint is the one-stop shop for reports in OmniPoint.
ControlPoint
- Schedule Adherence Report to track on-time performance, not only in current information, but also historical data
CommandPoint
- Dispatcher Event Handling statistics and Event Audits
InfoPoint
- Real time snapshots and ridership information for publishing to the Web
VitalPoint
- Statistics to monitor system performance and aid in system troubleshooting
DataPoint creates reports for all the components of the OmniPoint product suite. DataPoint, OmniPoint’s central data repository, stores data from CommandPoint dispatchers, ControlPoint on-time status and passenger counts, and schedule data and farebox ridership imported through the InterfaceModule; making all this information available to you through DataPoint Reports.
- DataPoint puts the data to work for you. DataPoint’s Report Scheduler can automatically mine data searching for missed trips, ridership trends, and monitoring trip performance. Reports may be scheduled to run daily, weekly, or monthly.
- DataPoint distributes reports to the people who need the information throughout your organization. DataPoint’s thin-client user interface requires only Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher and a DataPoint user account. The Report Scheduler can even email reports to DataPoint users.
- DataPoint is extensible. New reports for any component of the OmniPoint product suite can be created and added to DataPoint Reports without requiring a software upgrade.

Avail specifically reached out to the transit community to learn what types of questions they were asking and how they wanted to get the answers to those questions. The result of these efforts was the development of DataPoint. DataPoint is the industries most powerful and easy to use data analysis and data mining engine on the market today. DataPoint provides an extremely intuitive and user friendly interface that was actually designed through an interactive process between Avail and the transit properties using the tool.
